About Unisoft Systems Associates
Unisoft Systems Associates was established in July, 1988 by the management team at The Ohio State University Hospitals that developed the NUTRIENT DATA BASE and FOOD CONTROL SYSTEMS. The team consisted of Food Service and Data Processing professionals with over a century of experience in their combined fields.
Unisoft Systems Associates acquired the rights to the FOOD CONTROL SYSTEM from The Ohio State University in July 1988. Unisoft Systems expanded the original product to include sophisticated diet office programs as well as vendor and clinical interfaces. This evolving system was renamed Food System4.
Unisoft installed its first Windows based program called Food System4 in August, 1998. Food System4 Lite, a slimmed down version of Food System4 was also released in 1998.
Unisoft, in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, developed Food System4 Corrections in 1999 and MealTrac, an inmate tracking system designed to eliminate food line double backs in 2003.
Unisoft has since added new features to improve the MealTrac system, those include: a Turnstile option added in 2007 and a Fingerprint option was added in 2009.
Unisoft is currently developing a Web-based Food System that is expected to be released in the 2nd quarter of 2011.
Unisoft Systems Associates supports a customer base of over 300 correctional facilities, hospitals, universities, nursing homes, schools, manufacturers, and consultants. The customer base extends from coast to coast and into Canada.
